The response we have received all over the district we wish to represent is overwhelmingly positive! It’s clear; Nevada wants a change!

In making the decision to run against Jon Porter, a four term incumbent, Jesse Law along with numerous other average, law abiding citizens have finally become fed up. $8 Million in campaign contributions from the crème de la crème lobbyists, and a poor voting record put Jon Porter at the top of Jesse’s list to replace. Not only has Representative Porter made some crucial voting mistakes, shockingly, he is defending those positions instead of shying away from them.

Should we admire anyone willing to stick to their guns? In average situations, this is commendable, but Representative Porter has voted yes on laws that are completely contrary to the spirit on which our nation was founded. And Nevadans know this. His adamant defense his vote on the Military Commission’s Act of 2006, the Patriot Acts, and the FISA Amendments Act of 2008 that just passed in June are clear indicators that no matter how much experience he brings to the table, he simply does not get it.

As Benjamin Franklin said, ‘Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.’

Nevadans deserve someone who ‘gets’ liberty and knows that you compromise with the lives, property or liberty of citizens of this state.
